Admission notes

A manufacturer invisible to the buyers searching for it

Jayden Container manufactures industrial storage solutions - shipping containers, storage tanks and custom fabrication. Their website was technically live but invisible to the procurement teams and engineers sourcing these products online.

The situation

  • Industrial container manufacturer with custom fabrication capabilities
  • Products range from standard shipping containers to bespoke storage solutions
  • B2B buyers - procurement teams, engineers, project managers - searching online for specifications
  • Website existed as a brochure but couldn't communicate technical capability

What stood in the way

  • Product catalogue pages averaging 18+ seconds to load on mobile
  • No technical specifications, dimensions or material data indexed by search engines
  • Heavy industrial product images served uncompressed - some exceeding 5MB
  • No inquiry form above the fold - contact details buried in the footer
  • Zero content marketing - no guides, no specifications comparison, no use-case articles

Read this carefully

The 18.4s baseline is a Lighthouse lab test of the product catalogue page. The 0.8s is field data for the homepage. Different page, different measurement - a like-for-like re-run of /products would close the loop.

Still on the list

Lab performance sits at 58: render-blocking requests (~360ms), 280KiB unused JavaScript, 20KiB unused CSS, 8 long main-thread tasks and oversized hero imagery all remain open.

The unglamorous part

The problems that don't fit in a pitch deck

Most of this engagement was infrastructure nobody sees. It's also the reason the rest worked.

Industrial images at full resolution

Product photography and factory images were uploaded without any compression - multi-megabyte TIFFs and uncompressed JPEGs blocking page render entirely.

No technical content strategy

The site had product photos with no specifications, no dimensions, no material data - the exact information procurement teams need before making an inquiry.

Footer-only contact information

The only way to contact Jayden was a phone number buried in the footer - no inquiry form, no RFQ flow, no prominent call-to-action on product pages.

Zero search visibility for product queries

Engineers searching for "20ft storage container specifications" or "custom steel fabrication Malaysia" found nothing - Jayden had no pages targeting these queries.

Slow server response on product pages

Product catalogue pages were dynamically generated with no caching, causing TTFB to exceed 2 seconds during business hours.

No structured data for industrial products

Missing Product and Offer schema meant industrial products couldn't appear in Google Shopping, rich results or comparison queries.
